PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Traction Rec today introduced Facility Booking at the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Annual Conference. The second product built on Fresh, Traction Rec's new AI-powered platform for community recreation, Facility Booking gives teams one place to manage facilities and resolve booking conflicts as they happen.
Many parks and rec departments already take bookings online. The harder work comes after: setting up a league's season entry by entry, reworking bookings when schedules change, and sorting out conflicts by hand.
Facility Booking takes on that work. Staff set up large, recurring bookings by describing them in plain language, and the assistant builds each session and prepares the contract. When a season shifts or a space closes, bookings can be amended or moved without starting over. Facility Booking also works to avoid conflicts rather than just flag them, suggesting comparable openings when a time is taken and recommending adjustments staff can accept in a click.
“Parks and recreation facilities belong to the whole community, and the teams who manage them are often doing that work with tools that weren't built for it,” said Bill De Vries, Director, Product, at Traction Rec. “Every hour spent sorting out a double booking is an hour not spent on programs and people. Facility Booking gives that time back, so a league, a family, or a neighbourhood group gets clarity and confidence and the space gets used the way it was meant to be.”
Facility Booking is part of Traction Rec's growing work with parks and recreation agencies, building on its experience serving YMCAs, JCCs, and Boys & Girls Clubs.
Attendees can see Facility Booking in action at NRPA booth #2218, with live demonstrations throughout the exhibit hall days.
Facility Booking is available today for early access. It follows Community Self Serve, the first product on Fresh, which launched at YMCA General Assembly earlier this month. More Fresh products will follow in the new year. Agencies can visit tractionrec.com/fresh-platform or contact hello@tractionrec.com to learn more.
