Benchmark of 406 UK revenue leaders finds universal AI use alongside rising pipeline expectations and a preference for keeping humans in control
LONDON, Sept. 02, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AI is now used by every UK organisation surveyed, but nearly three-quarters have yet to reach the point where it’s embedded in day-to-day operations and delivering measurable outcomes. The findings are based on the latest research from Salesloft, the leader in Revenue Orchestration.
The 2026 Revenue Benchmark: U.K. Edition surveyed 406 UK sales and revenue decision-makers, and found that 28.3% describe their AI strategy as production-ready with measurable outcomes, while 23.4% remain in the experimentation stage and 48.3% fall somewhere between the two. The report assesses AI maturity based not simply on the number of available use cases, but on whether deployments are embedded in daily workflows, operate within clear controls and produce measurable outcomes.
These results come as expectations on UK revenue teams continue to rise. Nearly 72% of respondents say pipeline quotas have increased, while an estimated 21.6% of pipeline is affected by stalled deals, slipped close dates, and other execution breakdowns.
“AI is already everywhere in revenue teams. That’s not the hard part anymore,” said Steve Cox, CEO of Salesloft. “UK leaders are being thoughtful about keeping people in control, and I think that’s right. But with pipeline expectations going up, AI also has to help teams execute better. Sellers need to know where to focus, and managers need to see what’s happening early enough to do something about it.”
Key findings from the 2026 Revenue Benchmark include:
- AI maturity is advancing, but UK leaders are keeping humans in the loop.
While 28.3% of UK organisations report production-ready AI strategies with measurable outcomes, 23.4% are still experimenting. When asked how AI should operate, the largest share of respondents, 38.2%, prefer an internal advisory model in which AI supports research, summaries and recommendations without making direct decisions. - Higher pipeline expectations persist alongside execution challenges. Nearly 72% of respondents say pipeline quotas have increased, while 21.6% of pipeline is still affected by stalled deals, slipped close dates and other execution breakdowns. Although 59.4% report shorter sales cycles, the findings show that faster cycles have not eliminated execution challenges across the pipeline.
- Conversation intelligence is the most frequently cited signal for deciding where to focus. When asked which signal matters most for account prioritisation, 20.4% of respondents selected conversation intelligence, more than any other signal.
- Evidence about why deals are lost remains inconsistent. One in five respondents say deal-loss reasons are captured only sometimes, limiting what managers can reliably learn from completed opportunities and apply to future deals.
- Revenue technology strategy remains unsettled. 29.1% of UK organisations are actively consolidating their revenue technology stack, while another 25.1% are evaluating where consolidation makes sense. The findings suggest many organisations are reassessing their current technology approach rather than converging around a single model.
- Outbound personalisation is becoming an administrative burden. 36.2% identify writing personalised outbound emails as an administrative bottleneck, highlighting the time sellers continue to spend on tasks outside direct buyer engagement.
The findings show a market where AI adoption is no longer the primary challenge. Revenue teams in the UK are beginning to move AI into production, but questions remain around: how it should operate; where human judgment should remain; and whether the technology and data available to teams are translating into more consistent execution.
The research comes as Salesloft today unveiled a new global brand identity, less than a year after its merger with Clari, with the two organizations now operating as one Salesloft. The combined company brings together sales engagement, revenue intelligence and forecasting across the revenue lifecycle, forming the foundation of Salesloft’s Predictive Revenue System, designed to connect signals from across the revenue ecosystem with the actions that drive outcomes.
